Workshop no. 19: Sakura Suminagashi

It's no secret that we have a soft spot for crafting. When we held our first suminagashi (the 12th-century art of Japanese paper marbling) workshop in 2017, we sold out of seats in a matter of days. With the sakura cherry blossom festival in full bloom, we decided to bring back our favorite workshop with a colorful twist. We had a great time marbling together with the help of Sam, our marketing director- flip through our slideshow below for an insider look at some student creations.  

Thanks to everyone who joined us! The cherry blossom festivities continue this week with special events all over our home city of Philadelphia and culminates in Sakura Sunday, a daylong festival in Fairmount Park full of Japanese activities, ceremonies, and food. We'll be set up there with a small pop-up shop by the main fountain- come visit!
