Housed in (2018 City Guide pick) Meadowsweet Mercantile's old space, this collaborative shop hosts Cuttalossa, The Wayward Collection, and Tavatine and offers a rotating collection of textiles, furniture, and vintage clothing all under one roof.

Joseph Fox Bookshop

This family-owned bookshop features a highly curated collection of new art, architecture, and small press titles (all organized by press). If you're allergic to cats, fear not, they have two bookstore dachshunds!

You'll smell Isgro before you see it. This 100+ year old Italian bakery has stood the test of time thanks in part to their decadent cannolis and classic cookies. We're obsessed with their Ricotta Cookies and adorable Pesca Alla Crème!

John's Water Ice

John's is an institution. Nestled just a few blocks from the Italian Market, John's uses simple ingredients to create one of Philadelphia's most iconic "wooder" ices.

Located on the 2nd floor of the new Comcast Center, this stylish cafe from Chef Greg Vernick caters to the working crowd and is a great place to beat the heat. Given the location, one would hope the wifi is the best in the city.

After its recent renovation, the delightfully Beaux-Arts Bourse has gone from a tourist trap to a dining destination! With dozens of vendors to choose from (hi Menagerie & Lalo!), it's THE place to go if you're short on time and must see the bell.

Transport yourself to a trendy Tokyo izakaya (minus the salarymen). You won't find this level of quality and diversity of Japanese dishes and drinks anywhere in the city. For the full experience, reserve the Omakase and watch Chef Jesse Ito at work.

Located on Washington Square (one of last year's outdoor picks), this lesser-known National Historic Landmark building is an architectural treasure and is home to books and documents from throughout America's history. Entry is free!

Fleisher/Ollman Gallery

Since opening in 1952, this gallery space has been a platform for self-taught and non-mainstream artists like William Edmondson and the Philadelphia Wireman. Their Instagram posts thought-provoking art and is well worth a follow.

Fabric Workshop and Museum

FWM is a contemporary art museum with an influential Artist-In-Residence Program that encourages artists to experiment with new materials and techniques. No visit is complete without a stroll through their fantastic gift shop.

The newest addition to the rapidly expanding Delaware River Waterfront, this indoor/outdoor public space offers art installations, food, and an impressive view of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Schuylkill River Park

This 30+ mile trail has a lot to offer. The new "boardwalk" on the south end makes for a fun walk, but this listing is specifically for the dog run near 25th and Spruce. It is hands-down the cutest place in Philadelphia!
