Workshop no. 24: Living Tea: Kombucha Brewing Crash Course with Inspired Brews


On Sunday, October 21st, we wrapped up an event-filled month with an informative and delicious workshop all about kombucha. The workshop, hosted by our good friend Jessa, Brewmaster and Co-founder of Philadelphia kombucha brand Inspired Brews, covered everything our students needed to make crisp and refreshing kombucha at home.

Participants learned about the numerous health benefits of consuming kombucha before grabbing a SCOBY (or symbiotic culture of bacteria yeast), flavorings, and tea to make kombucha to enjoy immediately and to make for the future. As a Rikumo first, we used our in-house Kanaya Midori tea as the base for our brew and flavored with our Sei organic ceremonial matcha.
