Perhaps best of all, matcha has an unique and versatile flavor profile, lending itself to a wealth of recipes from sweet to savory. Below, we’ll show you how to mix up your everyday matcha routine with three ceremonial-grade sips spanning the course of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Breakfast Blender: Coconut Vanilla Matcha Smoothie
What You’ll Need:
1 (14 oz.) can coconut milk
1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
1 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen)
2 tsp Morihata Organic Matcha
2 tsp vanilla extract
1-2 tbsp maple syrup*
Small handful of ice
*optional: substitute maple syrup for your sweetener of choice
Instructions:
To a blender, add all ingredients and
blend until nice and smooth.
For extra sweetness, add more maple syrup.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
The Mid-Day Revival: Matcha Green Tea Soda
What You’ll Need:
1 cup seltzer water
½ cup water
¼ cup sugar
2 tsp Morihata Organic Matcha
Instructions:
For the simple syrup: To a saucepan, add the sugar and water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Sift your matcha powder before stirring it into the simple syrup.
Let it cool completely.
Fill two glasses with ice and pour in your matcha syrup, dividing it equally.
Fill each glass to the top with seltzer water and enjoy!
The After Dinner Delight: Matcha Espresso Martini
What You’ll Need:
1.5 oz vodka of your choice
.5 oz Kahlua
2 oz matcha tea
1 tbsp sugar (optional)
Ice
Instructions:
Pour 1 tbsp of prepared matcha tea into a bowl and wet the side of your coupe glass.
Spread 1 tbsp of matcha powder onto a plate and dip the wet side of the glass. For a sweeter rim, combine equal parts matcha powder and sugar before dipping your glass.
Add your liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 20 seconds.
Strain into your matcha-rimmed glass and sip responsibly!
